Bestselling author Lynda La Plante has been announced as the latest celebrity ambassador for charity Variety, which supports children and young people in the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
La Plante joins celebrity supporters including Eamonn Holmes, Denise Van Outen, Sir Michael Caine and James McAvoy.
